Pretty petals and Elegant Butterflies! Tealight giftbox Tutorial

Stampin’ Up! demonstrator stampwithpeg – Pretty petals and Elegant Butterflies

How cute is that, the finished box measures 1.5″ x 2″ and holds the 4 tea lights perfectly. I love these little boxes, they make a very sweet gift.

I really enjoy making these (and giving them to family and friends ‘just because’) and wanted to show you how you could make a cute little box too

You need a piece of card that measures 7 3/8 x 5 7/8 inches, I used very vanilla card for mine,

On the long side score at    –   1 3/4, 3 1/2, 5 1/4 and 7 inches
On the short side score at   –   1 3/4, 3 3/4 and 5 1/2 inches

Fold and burnish all the score lines, then you need to make a few cuts, these are shown in the next 2 photos.

Cut 5 pieces of you chosen paper, I used one from the Pretty Petals DSP Paper Stack. You need

4 pieces – 1 5/8 x 1 7/8 inches
1 piece – 1 5/8 x 1 5/8 inches

Adhere these to your card as shown below, making sure you put the lid paper on upside down and this will be the right way when made up, turn so that the lid is facing you with the pattern the right way up and punch out your desired shape, I used the Bitty Butterfly Punch.

Add adhesive to the side and fold to adhere it to the other side, I used fast fuse but tape would work fine too. Then close the lid and turn the box upside down as shown with the punch out turned the right way.

Fold in the 2 sides followed by the top flap, add adhesive to the inside of the bottom flap and fold this in carefully aligning up the sides.

Add your Chosen Tea Lights,

Using a small circle punch punch out a small notch from the front as shown to make opening the box easier.

Add your chosen sentiment and topper, I used the Bitty Butterfly PunchElegant Butterfly Punch and Papillon Potpourri Clear-Mount Stamp Set,  Using Mint Macaron card and Ink. My sentiment was from Perfect Pairings stamp set, but you can choose any sentiment. I used the Word Window Punch to put my sentiment on and also punched an extra one in Mint Macaron, cut it in half and added it to the back of my sentiment. I added a couple of enamel dots, one on the butterfly and one in the top right corner of the lid.

I hope my instructions make sense, but if you have any questions please leave me a comment below.

Each Month anyone that orders will get a little handmade gift and card as a thank you from me, but please remember to click the box that enables me to contact you or I wont be able to send this to you.

You can also use my hostess code to get an extra treat each month you shop, (Hostess code on the right). Please though if you spend over £150 don’t use the code as you will get your own hostess benefits and using the code would stop these. (This treat will be sent directly from me after the end of the month, with no expense to you, I will take care of the postage)

The hostess code can’t be added to your order after you have placed it, so please remember to include it.

Below you will find the supplies I used, If you would like to purchase any of these click on the link and it will take you to the product in my Stampin’ Up! Online Store.

I hope you enjoyed this and will try it out for yourselves.
Happy Crafting, Lynn x
