Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator stampwithpeg – Birthday Card For my Husband, Using Affectionately Yours, Balloon Celebration and Watercolour Wishes and many more 🙂
This is a card I made for my husbands Birthday, which was yesterday so its safe to share it now :). The hardest cards for me to make are the ones for my family, I overthink things and end up not knowing what to do, my crafting mojo goes on holiday. So when I went to make the card I had no clue what I was going to do.
I started with colour, I decided Night of Navy was a nice manly colour then struggled for 20 minutes deciding what colour to go with it. I tried quite a few colours together and liked the Mint Macaron with it best, and after taking about an hour to get that far things started to come together.
I used a piece of Affectionately Yours paper as my first layer and angled it slightly, then stamped a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with both colours using a stamp from Balloon Celebration and angled that the opposite way. I stamped sentiments I liked from 4 different stamp sets (details in supply list) on to 1″ strips of card and backed them with Night of Navy, eyeballing the banner cuts.
I’m really into washi tape at the moment, I used one in each of the colours and stuck the banners down with them (I added a little bit of snail under the banners too just to make sure they were secure) then using my bone folder I carefully gave them a bit of a curl.
I felt there was something missing, it just didnt look right so I added some sequins from the Watercolour Wishes Card Kit (the Night of Navy washi tape was also from there). I also added some Very Vanilla card inside to write on angled again, with washi tape in the corners to carry the theme but I forgot to take a photo of the inside. So what do you think? I really like it, after not having a clue what to make it has now given me a new style of card that I am looking forward to trying more of.
