Hopeful Thoughts : Get Well Soon

Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator stampwithpeg – Get well card with Copper embossing, Hopeful Thoughts and Serene Scenery

As soon as I unpacked my Hopeful Thoughts stamp set I wanted to try out embossing on the tree, I thought it would really set it off and I think it does just that.

I also got the fab Serene Scenery Designer Paper Stack last week, and loved this design it is so calming and perfect for a get well card. So this is it, my first attempt at heat embossing and I am hooked I can’t wait for my next go at it.

I first rubbed my embossing buddy over my sheet of Serene Scenery paper, and then stamped the tree and sentiment using versamark ink. I used copper embossing powder, which looked more like a mucky brown when it went on, I loved watching it turn to the lovely copper colour as the heat was on it. (quick tip : don’t put you finger too near the heat source, it hurts oops ).

I was originally going to add some other embellishments or ribbon but thought it really didn’t need it and could possibly spoil it, so I added a layer of Whisper White card underneath and then used dimensionals to add it to the base of Island Indigo.

I love the simplicity of it with the decadence of the copper and overall I’m quite pleased with my first attempt at heat embossing, I now need to decide what to do next I also have clear and white embossing powder. I would love to know what you all reckon I should emboss next, (I am rubbish at making my own decisions 🙂  ).

Thank you all for taking the time to check out my blog, I love sharing my crafting with you all and would love to see what you have made too.

Happy Crafting
