Night of Navy Week : Hello – A little sweet treat.

Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator stampwithpeg – Night of Navy week, Final Day : ‘You say goodbye, I Say Hello’.

It’s the last day of my Night of Navy week, and I have finished it off with a very quick and easy treat packet. I was out shopping with my Daughter last weekend when we spotted these sherbet straws, of course we had to get some especially as my Daughter loves them so much and at £1 for over 110 straws it was a bargain.

Well as crafters we all know how our little minds tick over when we see things we can use in our crafting, as soon as I got these I started to think about how I could make them into little treat packets and incorporate them in my Night of Navy week. I think they are really cute, and so easy to do.

Using 12″ x 12″ DSP cut 2″ strips, you can get 6 from 1 sheet, I used 2 different Night of Navy and Whisper White DSP designs (very similar but different 🙂 )

Score on the long side at 2″ and 7 1/4″, fold and lightly burnish.

Using the Ornate Tag Topper Punch, punch the shortest end.

Put 6 straws in a 2″ x 8″ cellophane bag, fold over the bag and use a piece of Washi tape to adhere to the inside of your DSP as shown making sure the bottom of the bag is level with the bottom fold.

Fold the bottom up and then the top over, thread some bakers twine up through the tag opening, go round lengthways and then width ways finishing with a bow at the front then trim the ends.

Stamp Hello from the Jar of Love stamp set (I used hello, because although my Night of Navy week is over its time to say Hello to another project) and then using the Layering Circles Framelits cut out using the 1 3/8″ circle, then cut a scalloped 1 1/2″circle out of your contrasting colour. Add an enamel shape and dimensionals as shown above and  layer these together, making sure the scalloped circle has the dimensionals so they will go either side of your bakers twine.

And that’s all there is to it, lovely and easy but very cute and I have still go enough straws to make another twelve.

Hope you enjoyed my Night of Navy week, I have had a great time using my favourite colour, thank you all for joining me.

Happy Crafting
