Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator stampwithpeg – A5 Notepad, Thankful for a Sheltering Tree.
I picked up a couple of A5 notepads last week, not my usual size but have been meaning to try my hand at some bigger ones for a while. So you would think I would have an idea of what I wanted to do….. hmm not a clue, I had to go through everything I had twice till I could decide. I chose the colour first based on my Bermuda Bay ribbon and went from there.
Once I had the colour my ideas flowed from there, thankfully because I find that the hardest and most time consuming part.
I will include a link to how I measure for my notepads at the end, and also the measurements for this one.
I chose a lovely spot effect paper for my background using Blooms & Bliss DSP, and a gorgeous sky, sea and sand scene from the Serene Scenery DSP stack for my front design.
My tree uses a stamp from the Sheltering Tree stamp set, I stamped the bare tree in Crumb Cake and then stamped the blossom with Versamark before using White embossing powder and my heat tool.
I added a few pearls to the tree and added my inspiration for the whole project, the little Bermuda Bay Stitched ribbon bow.
I added two of the sentiments that are included in the Sheltering Tree stamp set, I curved the top one on to my stampin’ block before stamping it over the tree, and then stamped the bottom one on a piece of Whisper White card shaping the ends before adding it.
I love the effect you get from heat embossing, it can change the whole look of a project and I think it really works with the blossom effect on the tree.
