Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator stampwithpeg – Envelope Punch Board : Presents & Pinecones Christmas Crackers Tutorial

20161007_163707-1

This is the second of my Envelope Punch Board Saturday projects which I will be doing for each Saturday in October, for this weeks project I have made some cute Christmas crackers, using Presents & Pinecones DSP from the Autumn Winter catalogue.

These are really quick and easy to make and can be made in advance and stored flat ready to be filled with treats or presents nearer christmas, they are also good for craft fairs and this particular size holds 2 Ferrero Rocher perfectly.

I have just got the Present & Pinecone DSP pack and looking through all the gorgeous papers (and smelling them too but thats a whole different story 🙂 ) these 3 patterns stood out to me as perfect for crackers.

On with the instructions before I get sidetracked, which for me is very easy.

You can get 2 of these from each 12″ x 12″ piece with a big 8″ x 4″ piece left for another project.

  • Cut each cracker at 8″ x 6″
  • Score on the short side at 1 3/8″, 2 3/4″, 4 1/8″ and 5 1/2″
  • Score on the long side at 1 1/2″, 2″, 2 1/2″, 5 1/2″, 6″ and 6 1/2″
  • Fold and burnish all score lines with the second and fifth score lines folded in the opposite direction as shown above.
  • Using the envelope punch board on the long side of the paper punch (but dont score) at 2″ and 6″ on each fold till all are done it will look like the picture above.
  • Using Fast Fuse or tear and tape add adhesive to the thin column all the way along
  • Fold together overlapping the thin column.

Here is what the crackers will look like flat folded and then opened out before adding decoration

I have used the Jar of Cheer stamp set for the wording using Emerald Envy ink, it is punched out with the Decorative label punch along with one in Emerald Envy and one in Cherry Cobbler, which were then cut and added behind as a border. These were added to the crackers on an angle, and finally I tied each end using silver glitter ribbon and added a silver enamel star.

Finished measurements for these are:

  • length – 8″
  • length of middle section – 3″
  • width – 1 3/8″

I will bring you another envelope punch board project next Saturday, there are so many things that can be done with this other than just envelopes, although they are of course very handy for that too.

Happy Crafting
