Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator stampwithpeg – Forever Friends : Sheltering Tree for a Happy Birthday.
What do you do when you just don’t know what you want to make, and ideas are somewhere on the other side of the world! Well what I do is get my favourite Stampin’ Up! colour out. Night of Navy is just such a classy colour and I really love working with it, some of my favourite projects have been with this colour.
Before I go any further I really must apologise, it is supposed to be an envelope punch board project today, but the last few days have gone by in a flash, I have been making lots of stuff for my Christmas craft fairs and I also had orders to make up, its been super busy. My week has been crazy and my days have got lost somewhere, so yesterday afternoon when I realised I needed to get my blog project done for today, and ideas were hard to come by all I could think of was getting Night of Navy out and that led to this card. My envelope punch board project will be here on Tuesday so I’ve kind of swapped the days round 🙂
I love copper with navy so on a layer of Whisper White card I used Copper embossing powder to emboss the trunk of my tree ( from the Sheltering Tree stamp set) then stamped the blossoms with Night of Navy stamped off first. I added some navy flowers using the little flower on the Tree Builder punch and added pearls to the centres as well as scattering a few on the tree. I distressed the edges of the layer with the navy also.
My forever friends stamp was from the First Sight stamp set and I used the Teeny Tiny sentiments stamp set for the happy birthday punched out with the classic label punch. I added some burlap ribbon on the bottom and added the punch out to the middle of it.
I added my layer to a Night of Navy card base, I am so glad I used this colour combination, it means I made a card I actually really like for the first time this week after misplacing my crafting mojo I think this has found it for me again and I am excited to come up with new ideas again.
I think the moral of this for me is to stop trying too hard to do ‘different’ and go back to what is comfortable and enjoyable and the ‘different’ projects will come when they are ready 🙂
