Sealed with Love : Valentines Treat Bag and Matching Card – With instructions.

Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator stampwithpeg – Sealed with Love : Valentines Treat Bag and Matching Card – With instructions.

I found these gorgeous little chocolate ladybirds while out shopping and they reminded me of the ‘Love you Lots’ stamp set, they are perfect to carry on with the Valentines theme, although with Mothers Day coming up soon also here in the UK these would be perfect for that too.

I originally was only making the treat bags, but each treat bag uses a 6″ x 4.5″ piece of Sending Love DSP which leaves a 1.5″ strip. Well you know I don’t like wasting any of my gorgeous papers so used it on a matching card.

These little treat bags are so easy to make and are just so cute, the finished size is 2.5″ x 2.5″ x 1″.

  • Cut your paper to 6″ x 4.5″
  • Score on the long side at – 2.5″ and 3.5″
  • Score on the short side at – 1″ and 3.5″
  • On the long side cut the two middle score lines to the first score line down, repeat the other side.
  • Add glue where shown.
  • Fold the two small glued tabs behind the long glued tab
  • Fold the other side up and fold the other long tabs onto these glued tabs.
  • While still wet make sure it sits neatly and press for a few seconds.
  • Squeeze the edges together at the top and run you finger gently down the side about half way
  • Press firmly at the top corners.
  • Punch a small hole in the centre of the top.

Put your chocolates inside and then thread some ribbon through the hole, I used about a 6″ piece. Cut the ends on an angle then tie some thinner ribbon round and make a bow, trim ends neatly.

I used a matt of Real Red and a layer of Whisper White for my topper, stamped with the gorgeous ladybirds from the Love you Lots stamp set, I coloured these in using a blender pen and Real Red ink. The sentiment is from the same set stamped in Basic Black.

I had some stamped and die cut shapes left from my last blog which used the Sealed with Love Bundle so I added the lovely little row of hearts above the sentiment.

So here is what I did with the left over strip of DSP, I used a whisper white card base then added a matt of Real Red with a layer of Whisper White, for my lighter strip of DSP I added a matt of the red before trimming the end to the right length and placing it to the left of my card. (The darker DSP didn’t need this matt)

I made the same topper as my treat bags but a bit bigger, and placed this in the centre of the card before adding the heart in the corner and the cute row of hearts again on the bottom right.

I love the way these turned out, these gorgeous little ladybirds always look great on a project. The love you lots stamp set is a Hostess Reward set so can only be bought with sales of £150 or more, but if you place an order for £70 or more through me and use my Hostess Code before the end of January I will send this out to you after I have closed the code at the end of the month. (Add the hostess code on the shopping basket page, bottom left).

  1. Do you have a video of this I’m lost in which side you’re glueing and which other side and then other side and then other side you’re talking about to fold it up. Thx

    • Hi Rachel, I haven’t got a video at the moment but I will do one and put it on in the next couple of days, sorry it wasn’t very clear, sometimes I find it hard to explain things in writing so hopefully a video will be clearer 🙂 x
