Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator stampwithpeg : Pootlers Celebrating Sale-a-bration blog hop : Inside the Lines, Watercolour Birthday card.
I am very excited to be part of today’s Pootlers Celebrating Sale-a-bration Blog Hop, where I have the pleasure of sharing my project with you along side some very talented ladies. We are all part of Sam’s (Pootles) team and are passionate about Stampin’ Up! products, and have come together for this blog hop to share some of the fabulous FREE items you can get during Sale-a-bration. This hop uses the InLinkz blog hop system so to see the other projects just click on the links at the bottom of this post.
I have used the lovely Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper, which is bang on trend with the popularity of colouring in at the moment, and with the addition by Stampin’ Up! of the new Watercolor Pencils is just so easy to do and of course the colours coordinate perfectly with the card, paper, inks etc. to give perfect results every time.
I have used a blending pen with the pencils, firstly I draw lines where I want the colour to be or dots or dashes, anything really just altering the thickness for how light or dark I want it, here is an example of what it looked like before I used the blending pen on it.
And of course you can see the finished result on my card. The colours I used were Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry.
I cut two of the corners off a piece of the DSP, I made a mark 3.5″ from the corner on both sides and cut diagonally from one mark to the other, then repeated on the opposite corner. I also coloured and cut out a few flowers and leaves.
I used Old Olive as a matt under my DSP before placing on my card and adding my sentiment. This was from another Sale-a-bration freebie, Avant Garden and was stamped in Rich Razzleberry.
Finally I added a few Rich Razzleberry enamel shapes, I wasn’t sure I was going to like this as I was doing it, it seemed a bit busy compared to my usual cards, but finished I actually quite like it, the white of the card base and across the middle keeps it calm.
