Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator stampwithpeg : Pootlers Team Birthday Blog Hop – Lift Me Up & Carried Away Easel Birthday Card.
Today I am taking part in a blog hop with other members of the Stampin’ Up! team I am part of, led by the lovely Sam (Pootles). Each month the members who celebrate their birthday that month take part, so this month its my turn, its my birthday on the 23rd and I will be (cough) 21….. Again!! well near enough just double it and add a dozen :).
The theme of course is ‘birthdays’, I have been wanting to try out this idea for a while, since I started playing with the Up and Away bundle. I wanted my balloons to look like they were really ‘floating’.
To do this I made an easel card, and used a piece of window sheet to give the effect. I really like the reverse colours on the scenery with Night of Navy mountains and a Mint Macaron sky, teamed with some Blushing Bride ink and the lovely glimmer paper. The DSP is called ‘Carried Away’ and is one of the brilliant Sale-a-bration Freebies, isn’t it fabulous!
Closed, the card shows the sky but once opened it looks like the small balloon is floating off high above the mountains, it turned out just as I had imagined.
I have added a panel inside to write a message on with a couple of stamped images to finish it off.
Please go and visit the rest of the birthday blog posts, there are only a few this month as not may of us have february birthdays but they are certainly worth checking out. I would just like to say Happy Birthday lovely ladies, and for any of you that have a birthday this month, Happy Birthday to you too xx
